Why Hire a Professional?

Hiring a professional landscaper in Lynden is quite an investment, but it has many benefits over doing the work by yourself. Below, we outline some of the benefits of choosing to work with Whatcom Landscapes:

  1. Save Time: Instead of doing it yourself, let us handle the dirty work while you spend your time doing what’s most important to you.
  2. Get the Right Plants: Many plants require specific conditions in order to thrive. Our landscape designers’ deep knowledge of flora allows them to thoughtfully design aesthetically pleasing landscapes that will stand the test of time.
  3. Material Purchasing: Without experience, researching what materials to use and where to purchase them can be taxing. On top of that, transporting purchased materials generally requires a large truck & trailer.
  4. Project Planning: Without a strong landscaping plan, you would likely make many unnecessary trips to the hardware store, redo much of your backbreaking work, and in the worst case, you can hit an electric wire or gas line, potentially leading to a life-threatening scenario. Confidently starting a project with a solid plan generally requires deep experience.
  5. Project Management: Even a perfect landscaping plan requires an experienced project manager to ensure the project goes smoothly.
  6. Stay on Budget: In a landscaping project, inexperience can quickly lead to unforeseen expenses that add up to thousands of dollars, pushing you outside of your budget. Stay on budget with an experienced professional.
  7. Expert Advice: A landscaper can teach you a lot in a short time about how to care for your outdoor living space.
  8. Maximize Potential: A professional landscaper will help you maximize the opportunities presented by your home or business. Avoid pitfalls and allow us to plan & execute the most effective design, customized specifically for you.
  9. High Quality Work: It’s not a good feeling when you finish a such a large project yourself and it doesn’t turn out as you had hoped. Choosing a professional to plan, design, and build a landscape for you allows you to relax and be assured you’ll see a quality outcome.

If you’ve decided it’s time to hire a professional to take care of your landscaping needs in Lynden, don’t hesitate to contact us for a quote.

Lynden Landscaping Portfolio

Many in Lynden have trusted Whatcom Landscapes to make their dream yard into a reality. Below are just a couple samples of our landscaping work in Lynden.

Client: Jeff & Jen D.

Jeff & Jen contacted us to for a full renovation of their outdoor living space in Lynden. This new landscape construction included a water feature, a flagstone path, a sprinkler/irrigation system, and many new plants. In front of the porch, we designed a unique section of field stone rocks surrounded by Irish moss to give the impression of boulders rising from a field of green. The back yard hosts a peaceful, pondless water feature, which includes a stream bed with three waterfalls surrounded by thoughtfully curated plants and rocks. Even the rocks of the stream are carefully placed to create a pleasant burble. Foregoing a pond allows the homeowner to avoid the dangers of standing water (with young children) and is low maintenance, and the auto-fill valve always keeps the water level topped off. With the weekly addition of beneficial bacteria, algae is kept at bay, and wildlife love it, too!

Our Landscaping Services

Lynden Landscape Construction

Whether you have recently purchased a new home or want to spruce up your existing landscape, our professionally trained crew can transform your property into a beautifully designed outdoor living space. We can either work off a design you already have or draft a solution to meet your needs. A well designed landscape implemented by professional installers can significantly enhance your property value.

Lynden Grounds Maintenance Programs
landscape-maintenanceWhether you are in need of yearly or weekly visits, our maintenance crew is well trained in keeping your property both healthy and beautiful.  We provide a full range of maintenance options that include mowing, trimming and edging; shrub and tree pruning, weeding and bark mulch; fertilization, weed control and debris cleanup.  Enrolling in our maintenance program after we have installed your landscape can be especially valuable as we will warranty your plants for as long as we maintain your yard if you have an automated sprinkler system installed.

Lynden Water Features
Ponds and water featuresWater features can be created to suit your style and taste to include cascading streams and/or waterfalls built with rock, stone, and slate and accented with plants.  Utilizing pondless water features, such as basalt columns, fountains and waterfalls, allows you to enjoy the benefits of a pond, but require less maintenance.  They are more cost-effective, fit in tighter areas, and have decreased liability.  Adding a water feature to your outdoor living space can create a relaxing environment as well as provide a haven for wildlife.

Lynden Interlock Pavers and Flagstone
paver-pathInterlocking pavers can be used for patios, walkways and driveways, providing many advantages in relation to concrete.  They come in a wide variety of patterns, colors and textures that can be made to accent the color and style of your home, enhancing your outdoor living experience.  Pavers also are more durable and much easier to replace than concrete or asphalt.  Using a permeable paver system can reduce impervious hard surface area and absorb rainwater runoff.  Natural flagstone is also a great option for patios and walks, creating an artistic mosaic of shapes with polymeric sand between joints.
Lynden Sprinkler Systems
Sprinkler SystemsTake a vacation and let a well designed sprinkler system take care of your grounds.  It has many benefits for homeowners as well as commercial property owners by significantly increasing your property value and protecting the investment you have put into your landscape.  It also simplifies the process of caring for your plants and lawn, by putting water where it needs to be when it is needed.  All our systems carry a 1 year warranty and include a programmable controller, winter blowout adapter, and introductory training session on how to take advantage of the features your system has to offer.  We also utilize the latest in water conservation technology such as multi-stream distribution nozzles, rain sensors, drip systems and check valves.
